Beat Time Crunch! Review of Schwarzkopf BC Moisture Kick Spray Conditioner

Heyyy Girls!!!
Are you guilty of skipping conditioner after shampooing? I know a whole lot of people who in the rush of being on time every morning, end up skipping on this most important step of your hair care routine. Not any more! Introducing Schwarzkopf Moisture Kick Spray Conditioner.

Schwarzkopf says:
For weightless rehydration.
New BC MOISTURE KICK is perfect to rebalance the hair’s moisture level. The innovative HYALURONIC ACID DERIVATE recharges the hair with essential moisture without overburdening it. For soft, supple and nourished hair, full of healthy shine and bounce.
HYALURONIC ACID DERIVATIVE: a vital ingredient commonly used in body moisturisers. Its molecule is able to balance the water content. Its outstanding hydrating properties result in increased smoothing, softening and combating dryness.PANTHENOL: penetrates the hair shaft to inject hydrationand balances the natural moisture level.

AMINO CELL REBUILD TECHNOLOGY: penetrates deeply into the hair to repair the inner cell structure.

Benefits:
  • Refreshed and re-hydrated, the hair recovers elasticity, becomes tangle free, easy to manage and any desired hairstyle can be created with a healthy shine.

Anyone who's ever coloured, permed or straightened their hair must be well aware of the dry, brittle and straw like texture your hair gets as an un-wanted addition with the chemical process. I was looking for a product that gives me some moisture to combat this very problem. What drew me to this product was that it was a spray / leave in conditioner that acts like an instant hair treatment for dry hair giving them, as the name very well describes, a kick of much needed moisture.

I have the 200 ml bottle of Moisture Kick spray conditioner purchased for INR 540. It comes in a cylindrical plastic bottle with a spray dispenser. The bottle is definitely not made for carrying around with you through the day. And trust me, I found no need to use this even when I skipped washing my hair for a day. The conditioner comes in a liquid form and you can see some foam bubbles floating on the surface of the liquid. I love the smell of all Schwarzkopf products, not that I've used many of them but they always make your hair smell just the way it does after a day at the salon or spa. Moisture Kick has a nice fragrance like most professional hair products do.

This product is mainly aimed for normal to dry hair or those with curly hair. Application is very easy. All you need to do is give it a nice shake and spray it all over your towel dried hair post shampoo and your good to go. After using this I am no longer afraid to take a comb through my wet hair. There are no tangles and once dried only soft, fragrant and well behaved hair. Moisture Kick feels a little heavy on your hair after you use it the first few times but the immediate transformation in your hair's condition pre and post use is outstanding.
I am glad I decided to try a spray conditioner because it helps a lot on the days I don't have the luxury to use a cream conditioner. Also, its a great to use at the gym after a shower with my travel friendly Lush products!

What's Really In Your Shampoo??

Heyyy Girls!!!
Did you know that there are two types of ingredients in a shampoo. One that cleans your hair. The other type strokes your emotions. Of the 22 ingredients in a bottle of shampoo, three clean hair. The rest are in the bottle not for the hair, but for the psychology of the person using the shampoo. At least two-thirds of a shampoo bottle, by volume, was put there just to make us feel good. The world spends around $230 billion on beauty products every year. Of this figure, $40 billion go to shampoo purchases. So most soap manufacturers aren't willing to rely on a product that merely works. The bigger job is convincing the consumer that their soap is adding value to the consumer's life. So shampoo bottles include extra concoctions aimed at convincing the man or woman in the shower that the soap is more "luxurious" or "effective." Because beautiful hair doesn't just happen.

However, have you ever wondered how these "effective" and "luxurious" concoctions effects your hair and scalp once they have done their job of washing your hair? What exactly do all those long, unpronounceable names in the ingredients list of your shampoo stand for? Let's find out...

Ammonium/Sodium Laureth Sulfate

There are two kinds of Sulfates, either of which could be found in your shampoo, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Both are known to have similar foaming and detergent like properties. Knowledge on one can educate us on the effects and side effects of both.
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) is the ingredient in shampoo that has been singled out as the offending culprit. If you use shampoo then you’re drenching your head in SLS – it’s found in over 95 percent of commercial shampoos. SLS is a potent de-greaser, acting as a surfactant, binding to the dirt and gunk on your hair and scalp. After rinsing your hair, the grime is dragged down the plug hole by the SLS. SLS takes no prisoners, dirt is zapped away and your hair is left bright and bouncy. Yet even after rinsing SLS residue may have taken up camp in and on your scalp. Exposure itself may be enough to cause problems.

SLS is also present in industry strength engine cleanser

SLS is also commonly found in detergents used for cleaning garage floors and engines. Some may cry foul: “If it is used for industrial cleaning what the **** is it doing in my hair?” But this argument is flawed. Many substances are used both industrially and by humans. Baking soda is used for high strength cleaning, yet we happily munch on cakes baked with it. The only side effect, a satisfied and bigger belly. One more theory warns we are laid bare to the effects of SLS just after a follicle has shed its hair. That those empty and open follicles die when exposed to the acidic nature of SLS for long enough, or in enough quantity. As part of the normal hair cycle the average person sheds over one hundred hairs every day. That’s ample opportunity to expose empty follicles to an SLS attack. When a follicle is dead you can say "au revoir!" to that hair for good.

Yet, there is no solid proof. SLS has been used in shampoo for over fifty years by millions of people, millions of times, repeatedly. So why isn’t everyone bald? There is a glut of possible reasons. Some people may be more sensitive to SLS than others, perhaps some sort of mild allergic reaction. Some people may use less shampoo and so are less exposed, or maybe they rinse their hair more thoroughly, so there is less residue. Hair length could be a factor. The more hair you have the more dilute the residue will be on your hair and scalp, a possible reason why women don’t go bald as much as men. There are hundreds of possibilities, alas nothing concrete.

Parabens

Parabens are a sort of preservative used in cosmetics in general and shampoo in particular. They are even used in some foods and medicines. Parabens are used to inhibit microbial growth, and they are not a new substance – they go as far back as the 1920s, when parabens were used as preservatives. You can recognize them in ingredient lists on shampoo bottles – known variously as “methylparaben, propylparaben, benzylparaben and butylparaben,” all ending in “paraben,” making them fairly easy to recognize. Why are some people concerned about the safety of parabens? Should you be concerned? Here is a list of some of the common concerns with parabens.

1. Breast cancer
A 2004 study showed traces of five parabens in cancerous breast tumors. Although the study did not prove the parabens caused the cancer, parabens do cause estrogen-like activity in the body, and excess estrogenic activity is highly implicated in breast cancer. The concern regarding this study is that it clearly shows that parabens are capable of remaining intact in human tissue, and are not necessarily excreted from the body quickly and easily, as was once thought. The 2004 study is inconclusive, but that is the point – the study does not prove that parabens are safe, either. It raises important questions about the safety of parabens.
2. The water supply
When you use shampoo that contains parabens, those parabens go down the drain and into the public water supply each time you wash your hair. If you have a septic system, the parabens will be excreted into the leach field, and thus into the general environment. Ground water, creeks, streams, springs, and other water supplies are therefore contaminated with each rain. Municipal water systems are obligated to sanitize water by killing bacteria and other micro-organisms before it is considered drinkable tap water. Parabens, however, are not micro-organisms. Like other chemicals dumped into the water supply, parabens can easily go “full circle” in the water supply, going from shower drain to rivers and back to the water treatment facility. Parabens on the skin are one thing, but the effects of actually drinking them is something else to consider.
3. Baby products
There is no limit on the amount of parabens that manufacturers can use in shampoos; the amount is not regulated. Babies, with their smaller bodies and less-developed systems, are more at risk for all toxins and chemicals than adults. So be sure to read ingredient lists on baby cleansing products.
Parabens are a controversial substance. The studies are not definitive regarding the safety of parabens; parabens have not been proven unsafe, but they have not been proven safe, either. Due to this doubt, it is better to be safe than sorry and avoid parabens.
Silicone

Hair washed using silicone based shampoo( left) and silicon free shampoo(right)

Both shampoos and conditioners contain Silicone which helps to give you smooth and soft hair. Most frizz fighting hair products including hair masks contain Silicone. The name or names you should look for are Dimethicone, Cyclomethicone, and Phenyl Trimethicone, which are common silicone-based ingredients in hair care products. Silicone has no known side effects on either your hair, health or the environment. But while products containing silicone can be great for the hair to leave it smooth and silky. Products containing silicone can be bad for the hair because the residue builds up on the hair. They create a short term illusion that the quality of our hair has improved. However, when used over time, silicone-based hair products coat the hair shaft and seal out moisture, possibly clogging the hair follicles. So what happens is that hair can become flat and greasy with build-up or dry and straw like with the lack of moisture. I was told that silicones are particularly bad for colored or permed hair as the hair will appear fizzy with excessive coating.
So it’s really best to avoid silicone-based hair products especially for those with fine and chemically treated hair or another way out is to alternate between two shampoos: A Silicone shampoo and a Clarifying shampoo. Clarifying shampoos are also able to help as they’re are created to remove excessive silicone buildups. Big Shampoo from Lush, Drama Clean from Herbal Essences and Pantene Lively Clean are some good clarifying shampoos.

Artificial Fragrances & Colors

When you buy a "Strawberry & Honey" shampoo and take a sniff of it, you feel like you're going to give your hair the benefits of a wash with a real strawberry and honey smoothie. But nothing could be further from the truth. Shampoos are full of artificial fragrances and synthetic colors which are used to artificially create the exact smell and color of a real Strawberry.
The synthetic colors used to supposedly make a shampoo "pretty" should be avoided at all costs. They are labeled as FD & C or D & C, followed by a color and a number. Example: FD & C Red No. 6 / D & C Green No. 6. Synthetic colors are believed to be cancer-causing agents. If a cosmetic contains them, do not
use it.

Artificial fragrances are frequently labeled simply as “Fragrance”. I suggest you avoid products that list fragrance as an ingredient, because there is no actual way to tell what chemicals are present in these products. People can get allergies, headaches, dizziness, rashes and even respiratory problems from them.

Hope this post helps you in making the right choice next time you buy a shampoo! After all, you deserve to know what's best for you.

Freedom from Chemicals: Review of L'Oreal Source De Richesse

Heyyy Girls!!!
This Independence Day I've found the perfect product that will set your hair free of all the atrocities and damage chemicals inflict on your hair & scalp. Yes, you guessed it! It's The Source De Richesse shampoo from the Série Nature of L'Oreal.

L'Oreal claims:
"Sulfate free, Paraben free, Silicon free. 100% natural fragrance, no synthetic fragrance. The shampoo’s mild sulfate-free cleansing base generates a creamy foam that protects the hair’s natural lipid balance, essential to the hair’s beauty.

Result:

— Hair is nourished and shiny
— Hair is smooth, supple and controlled."

In my efforts to be both, eco-friendly and kind to my hair, I decided to try the Source De Richesse shampoo which is a nourishing shampoo for dry hair. I had previously tried the Oiliss serum from the Nature line of L'Oreal and found it to be quiet helpful for my frizz prone, dry hair even in the humidity of my city. Also the main ingredients in some of the products from the Série Nature line of L'Oreal reads of  Avocados, Olives, Grape Seed Oils, Rice Proteins, Lycopene and Cocoa which are known to be some of the finest gifts from Mother Nature herself, to naturally care for our hair. Reading this, I knew I just had to try this one!

Priced at INR 900 for 500 ml, all products from this range our completely Paraben, Silicone and Sulfate free. The color and fragrance of this shampoo is also completely natural making it a good choice for those prone to sensitivity and allergies. The shampoo is a clear liquid with traces of white in it. It has a distinctive, earthy smell perhaps due to the natural origin of this product. Source De Richesse creates a decent lather and leaves your hair clean and soft. The first time I used this shampoo, I was disappointed because it didn't create the smoothness and rich foamy lather my regular shampoo did. All thanks to years of using shampoos which were full of sulfates, artificial fragrances and silicone which would leave my hair dramatically smooth to touch but also damage that would be irreparable in the long run. However, a couple of washes with this shampoo and I can now see it slowly yet steadily restoring the moisture and health back into my dry, chemically treated hair. Simply put it is nature's way of showing  me that patience indeed is a virtue.

Still not convinced that a Sulfate, Paraben, Silicone free shampoo is better than your regular shampoo? Well, make sure you read my next post which will educate you and help you make the right choice next time you're buying yourself a shampoo.
Inspite of being SLS and Paraben free, L'Oreal Souce De Richesse shampoo creates sufficient lather

Blush Mania: Review of Maybelline Expert Wear Blush

Heyyy Girls!!!
I'm having, yet another, episode of blush mania. Yes, its blush mania when I go counter to counter and try to find that dream color which will look best on my cheeks. I know its an episode when I end up buying three different blushes, from two different brands in the same week to add to the piles of make up I already have lying at home.

This time I ended up buying two shades of the Maybelline Expert Wear Blush. I've tried this blush back in my college days and it worked well for me then. So, I decided its time I tried these again. I bought the Expert Wear Blush in Apricot Flush and Pinch o' Pink.

The packaging is similar to the old Expert Wear Blush I used back in 2007. Its a plastic palette (which breaks easily) with the blush cake on one side and an applicator blush on the other. To my surprise, the brush provided with the Expert Wear blush is pretty good and did a decent job. The formula is soft and blends well on your skin which is something I've never experienced with Maybelline before. Priced at INR 209 only for 4.5 gms of product, this blush is possibly the an inexpensive buy that would still give you value for your money.

Being blessed with high cheekbones, I prefer to apply blush right on the apple of my cheeks. All you have to do is smile a little and start sweeping the brush outwards from there. You must blend well because blush isn't meant to make you look like the newest recruit at a circus. It should give you a natural flushed look something like you get after a work out or when you're actually blushing.

This is the perfect way to apply blush on your cheeks

Pinch O' Pink is a very light pink color which is great for fair complexion. It has some silver glitter in it which shows sparsely on your face. The staying power is not that great, you may need to touch it up at least once through the day. Also you need to apply lots and lots of this blush if you want the color to really show. However, if you love wearing pink blushes, this ones worth a try.

Apricot Flush is an apricot/orange blush which looks great on both fair and dusky complexion. Its subtle enough for daily use and my favoured one of these two. Once applied, the color pigment shows well but there was still need for that one touch up. Its got some faint golden glitter which can help you get that glowing sun kissed look. This one is highly recommended by me!

Frizz Be Gone: Review of Sublime Shine Hair Serum from L'Oreal

Heyyy Girls!!!
Nobody likes a bad hair day! It's a joy kill like no other for every Girl. And when talking about bad hair day's, frizziness is one of the main reasons for most of our bad hair days. But L'Oreal's new hair serum, Sublime Shine promises to bring an end to frizzy, dry and lifeless hair.

L'Oreal claims:
"Nourish and tame your very dry, frizzy hair with L’Oréal Professionnel tecni.art Hairmix Sublime Shine. It leaves your hair amazingly shiny and more manageable. This shine serum contains natural oils and avocado derivatives, which smooth your hair fibre and eliminate frizz for a beautiful, shiny finish. L’Oréal Professionnel tecni.art Hairmix Sublime Shine gives very light hold and has a soft vanilla fragrance.Sublime shine can be used as a finishing touch on your particularly rebellious and dry hair. It provides long lasting frizz control and reduces the volume of difficult to manage hair while providing shine and vitality.

Directions of Use:
  • Apply tecni.art Hairmix Sublime Shine to your shampooed, towel dried hair
  • Use 2-3 pumps
  • Spread it evenly over your lengths and ends
  • Style as required
  • Alternatively apply to your dry hair as a finishing touch"

The last time I went for a hair trim, my stylist suggested that I try this new serum for daily use. As I was just running out of my regular hair serum I decided its time to switch. Priced at INR 600 for 125 ml. Sublime Shine comes in a bronze plastic bottle with a pump. One pump is all it takes for my little below the shoulder length hair. Sublime Shine is a clear serum with a pleasing smell. On wet hair I work it into the lengths and ends before combing my hair. This helps to ease out all tangles.

When using on dry hair for a shiny finishing touch, I would suggest you use this serum very sparingly or else it may weigh your hair down. Also never apply this serum directly on or near your scalp or else you'll end up with greasy hair. The easiest way to use this on dry hair for a shiny effect is to take a tiny amount, rub your palms together and work it on your lengths and ends. After this proceed with your regular styling routine.

Hair is intensely smooth and shiny after using Sublime Shine from L'Oreal

Sublime Shine is a great product for hair which is dry and frizzy and hence it tangles and looses its natural sheen. It also gives your hair great manageability and the promised shine. If you have any of these issues with your hair and have been searching for a solution, then do give this serum a try.

Smell Great & Go Green with Godiva Solid Shampoo Bar from Lush

Heyyy Girls!!!
I just love Lush! They continue to surprise and thrill me with every new product I try. After my recent bout of travelling, I realised the importance of carrying toiletries and cosmetics which are travel friendly. After all nobody wants smashed bottles and broken lids!

Lush claims:
"Give your hair the moisturising boost it needs with softening, conditioning butters. Your hair will be left so beautiful no one would notice you were riding the streets naked. It's a two-in-one shampoo and conditioner that's now completely vegan. Cocoa and Shea butters combined to create a rich, thick feel to the lather. They also moisturise the hair follicles and condition to make hair soft. Smoothing, shine inducing Camellia oil makes hair manageable."

Godiva is a yellow colored shampoo bar that can easily fit in your palm. You can see a few stray flower petals and chunky bits of conditioner in it.Although Lush claims that Godiva is a "2 in 1 shampoo", I would like to tell you otherwise. When I was training to be a hair stylist, our instructor had informed us about this gimmicky term the manufacturing companies come up with just too push their sales. Shampoo is meant to cleanse your hair and scalp and like soap opens the pores on your skin, shampoo opens your hair follicles. Conditioner meanwhile is meant to de-tangle and nourish your hair. It also seals the hair follicle. I purchased Godiva for the fragrance it has! It has the most divine, intoxicating jasmine fragrance I've ever smelt! If you are sensitive to perfumes and fragrances, then this might not be for you. But if you still have your heart set on a shampoo bar, there are plenty of mild fragrance shampoo bars also available at Lush.

Priced at INR 680 for one bar, Godiva needs to be stored in a dry cool place due to the two different butter's present in it. You can buy the shampoo tins Lush sells to keep your bar safe. I personally cut the bar into two halves and use one at a time because after a couple of washes, the bar tends to get soft and mushy. And at this price, you don't want any wastage. The efforts you need to take to care for your solid shampoo might be putting off for a few but the results Godiva gives and that heavenly smell, just makes up for it! Godiva lathers really well and the smell lingers in the shower all day long. However sadly, it's gone from my hair by the noon. My hair is always the softest and most manageable when I use Lush products and this was no different. Godiva along with being travel friendly is also eco-friendly since it comes without any plastic containers. How cool is that! Lush is helping us take being eco-friendly to a whole new level!

So what are you waiting for? Go grab a shampoo bar and do tell us how you liked it!

Make Up Essentials for your Work out's

Heyyy Girls!!!
When you're working out, you know you're going to sweat but I know that a lot of Girl's sweat out just thinking about which eyeliner, gloss or moisturiser to wear to the gym. Something that helps you stay comfortable yet pretty while you sweat it out. Over the years, I've come to trust a couple of products which help me enjoy my workout without fretting over my make up. And I'll be sharing them with you in today's post!

Face
I prefer to go foundation free to the gym and sometimes I don't even wear moisturiser but I know there are times you have been partying too much or losing sleep over work/studies related stress and with these come dark circles. No Girl wants to step out looking tired and haggard. This is where the tinted moisturiser steps in. I have been using the Pond's Age Miracle Anti Ageing Tinted Moisturiser for the last 3 years or so and its a must have for me now. It comes with a SPF 15 eliminating the need of a sunscreen in doors. Priced at INR 215 for 30 ml. this Tinted Moisturiser gives very sheer coverage, refines pores and leaves your skin looking dewy. Available in Ivory, Beige and Honey, the small handy tube is a perfect to achieving a natural glowing look at the gym.

Eyes
I have shared this one before but here I go again! I have noticed that most Indian Girl's prefer to wear kohl or kajal to the gym. And I have also noticed that it gives them the 'panda eyes' look at the end of their work out. Not any more! Say Hello to Maybelline's Colossal Kajal and L'Oreal Contour Kohl. Both of these are fantastic to use if you just can't skip using eye liner even when working out. Colossal Kajal comes in a mechanical pencil and is priced at INR 150 while the Contour Kohl which is a regular eye pencil costs INR 299. Try these and you'll never worry about your liner smudging or fading even during rigorous work outs.

Lips
I would love to wear lip stick or gloss to the gym but the idea of getting it all over my sipper is just to disgusting to me. But I have pale lips which in turn makes me look really pale if I'm not wearing any lip color. So I need a little bit of color on my lips even when working out. I have two favourites here, first to use one coat of the Body Shop Lip stain and then to follow it up with one coat of Maybelline Lip Smooth Color and Care Balm. I was previously using the Benetint lip stain from Benefit but just can't find it anywhere to re-purchase in my current city! So I've started using the Body Shop Lip/Cheek stain in 01 Rose Pink which comes in a tube with an applicator wand like most glosses and one coat is all it takes for pretty pink lips. Body Shop Lip/Cheek Stain retails at INR 575 for 8 ml. It  contains glycerine and is moisturising on your lips and also doubles up as a cheek stain. Talk about multi-tasking!

Over my Body Shop Lip Stain, I like to use Maybelline's Lip Smooth lip balms which are also quiet moisturising with the extracts of jojoba oil and Vitamin E. They are available in 6 different colors with a SPF 16. They come in little plastic tubes with a mechanical roller at the base. I have this in the color Cranberry Jam. It retails for INR 99 for 4.5 gms.

Healthy Skin with a Foundation?? Review of Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

Heyyy Girls!!!
Ever wondered why there is so much hue and cry over removing your make up every night before you go to bed? Or why celebrities who are constantly coated with pancake like layers of make up are always speaking about the importance of going make up free sometimes and letting your skin breathe?

Makeup contains chemicals that can be harmful  to the skin when worn for long durations of time and especially if left on overnight. Make up clogs pores making it impossible for your skin to breathe freely, resulting in clogged pores, blackheads and possible acne breakouts. Hence its extremely important that you choose your make up very carefully. These days many brands are offering skin friendly products that have been dermatologically tested. Its best to try and find which of these products suit your skin best and stick to them.

Bourjois claims:
"Bourjois' 1st radiance-boosting fruit therapy foundation for a flawless complexion for up to 16hrs! Apricot for radiance, Melon for hydration, Apple for antioxidants and Ginger for energy. Its exquisite glide-on formula blends onto the skin for a flawless, yet natural finish. And its good for your skin! Provides moisture for up to 8 hrs, lets skin breathe. Dermatologically tested."

I wasn't looking for a foundation when I came across this one. I have always found Bourjois products to work very well on my skin and the SA managed to convince me to try this "new skin friendly foundation". But what blew me away was the excellent coverage this foundation gave me without the heavy, cake-y feeling you normally get from a full coverage foundation.

Though the SA told me that Healthy Mix is a medium coverage foundation, I found it provides me with all the coverage I need. With a mild fragrance and a soft, creamy formula which is easily blended, I do not need to use a primer or a concealer when I wear this one. Just a little loose powder to set the foundation and you're good to go. I use this for weddings, parties and any such dressy event and it always leaves my skin looking porcelain perfect and glowing. Sadly, Healthy Mix foundation does contain silica but the Fruit therapy bit makes me feel a little less guilty about wearing make up all day long.

Priced at INR 950 for 30 ml, Healthy Mix foundation comes in a plastic bottle with an easy to use pump dispenser. I love that it has a plastic body because I broke my MAC Studio Fix foundation's glass bottle last time I was travelling and it was hardly used! Made a huge mess and I had to shell out another 1500 bucks. So  I'm glad that the next time I travel I need not worry, thanks to Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation! Available in plenty of shades to choose from (even for the Indian skin) next time you're hunting for a new foundation, you know which one to try!

Pink up your Eyes: Maybelline Diamond Glow eye shadow in Wine Pink

Heyyy Girls!!!
Which of you doesn't love the color pink? I do! I love pink in all its hues! Pink makes me feel pretty, young and happy. It brings back to me the memories of my Girl-hood, of the days spent playing with my Barbie and other such girl-y pursuits. Oh how I wish I could live those days again *sigh*

I was so excited when I found that Maybelline has a palette of pink shadows in the Diamond Glow quads range. I just had to share this with you Girls!

I had previously used the same eye shadow range from Maybelline in Copper Brown and Lilac Mauve. I personally feel that shades from the copper to gold and lilac to purple family look great on brown eyes, so I stock up on these colors from most brands. But the Wine pink palette from Maybelline had such pretty pink colors, I just had to make an exception.

Priced at INR 375 each for for 2.5 gms of powder based eye shadow, this is quiet inexpensive. Afterall, you're getting one highlighting shade and three gorgeous shimmery colors. Instructions on how to create a Wine pink eye shadow look are also provided beneath the plastic case. The case is sleek and easy to carry around for touch up's.

The shimmer is not over the top so you can wear it comfortably in the day. Colors can be built up if you want to wear them into the night. Product is easily blended but may require a few touch up's through the wear. But one can hardly complain given the price. This is the perfect eye shadow for when you're on a tight budget or don't like using your expensive cosmetics for daily wear.

Fruit Juice for your Hair!! Review of I Love Juicy Shampoo from Lush

Heyyy Girls!!!
I'm back this weekend after a mini vacation taken for a pilgrimage and my birthday. And I'm back with one of the juicy-iest, yummy-iest shampoo you could ever find for your hair. Yes, its the I Love Juicy shampoo from Lush! After all your hair needs a nice fruit mocktail too to stay shiny, bouncy and full of vitality.

Lush claims:
"Fresh pineapple, papaya, kiwi and mango juices saturate this fruity shampoo and take shampooing to a whole new level. The cleansing power of these juices leaves hair clean, healthy and shiny. A pinch of salt adds a dash of volume and scoops of seaweed gel add softness. Mango and pineapple juices control oil with natural enzymes. You'll love juicy when you realize your once oily locks are squeaky clean and shiny. "

I Love Juicy shampoo is basically for those Girls who have a naturally oily scalp making it impossible not to shampoo your hair everyday. As most of us are already aware, it is not advisable to shampoo your hair everyday because shampoo's contain harsh chemicals (sulfates and parabens) which strip your hair of the natural oils (sebum) secreted by our scalp. Sebum is what helps in keeping our hair naturally glossy, healthy and prevents them from drying out. Depending on your hair's length and thickness, it may take the sebum to travel from your roots to tips anywhere from 1 day to even a week. But then there are those of us who suffer from extremely oily scalps and can't help but wash our hair everyday. And this is exactly where I Love Juicy shampoo comes in.

Its proven that people with oily hair or skin should refrain from washing themselves repeatedly in order to avoid the excessive oil secretion. So if you have oily skin, try not to wash your face more than twice a day and for oily scalps to skip at least a single day between shampooing. I have an oily scalp and I exercise too which  makes it impossible for me not to wash my hair every day. But due to the various chemical procedures I've put my hair through I also have dry ends. But after my first wash with I Love Juicy, my hair was the softest it's ever been! It made my hair shiny and kind of calm so much so that every layer in my hair was well defined. Given that this is a cleansing shampoo, I did use a conditioner on my dry ends.

With this shampoo, I could for the first time in my life go about my regular routine for 2 whole days before I felt the need to wash my hair again. Plus normally, I need to use loads of shampoo to get the "clean" feeling but with this one just a tiny bit (see picture below) was sufficient! Priced at INR 900 for 250 gms, though a little expensive this will last me a very long time. I Love Juicy Shampoo is also available in 100 gms. and 500 gms. bottles priced at INR 480 and INR 1540 respectively.

Would recommend this one whole heartedly to all those who are tired of washing their hair every day only to end up with greasy locks by the evening. With I Love Juicy shampoo you will be set free of the very tedious routine that comes with an oily scalp. Thank you Lush!
I Love Juicy shampoo is a clear to pale yellow color

Trivia on Lush:
Lush Cosmetics is a premium brand from UK and a proud supporter of re-cycling waste and not testing on animals. Hence, each product comes with an expiry or best before date. These cosmetics are hand made and contain no preservatives only fresh ingredients. So now you can pamper yourself without the fear of harsh chemicals or the poor animals who are tested on by switching to Lush!

P.s. I Love Juicy shampoo is not a sulfate and paraben free shampoo.
